Dr. Josh Plummer, PT, DPT, FMS, CSCS, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland College Park. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Baltimore, with an special interest in sports orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy.
Josh has been involved in sports his entire life, playing baseball, basketball, and golf from childhood. He has particular interest in assessing movement patterns and quality of movement via Functional Movement Screening, developing plans for addressing specific deficits while working towards overall goals of maximizing function and athletic performance. Josh has worked with recreational, NCAA Division 1 and professional athletes. Prior to True Sports PT, Josh worked in an outpatient sports orthopedic office in Columbia, MD where he had the opportunity to rehab athlete's across numerous levels of playing competition. Along with his experience in sport rehabilitation, he has also received continuing education through Maitland-Australian on management of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine dysfunctions and uses these hands-on strategies with treatment of many conditions. Additionally, Josh is certified in Dry Needling and uses the modality to help patients of all backgrounds.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys golf, baseball, running and all University of Maryland sports.
