Dr. Cydney Pierce

Cydney Pierce's journey into the field of physical therapy and athletic training is deeply rooted in her extensive background in various sports, including soccer, basketball, softball, and volleyball. Her personal experiences with injuries during her college volleyball career, and the subsequent time spent in athletic training rooms and with physical therapists, played a pivotal role in guiding her towards a career dedicated to helping athletes return to their respective sports.

Cydney began her academic journey at Endicott College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2018. She then pursued further education at Northeastern University, completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2023. This combination of athletic training and physical therapy education provided her with a comprehensive understanding of sports injuries, rehabilitation, and athlete care.

Professionally, Cydney has gained valuable experience in the field. She worked as a Head Athletic Trainer at a high school for two years, where she managed sports injuries and rehabilitation for high school athletes. Additionally, she worked part-time as an Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level for a year, followed by per diem work for another year. This experience has allowed her to develop a broad skill set in athlete care, ranging from acute injury management to complex rehabilitation and return-to-sport decisions.

Cydney particularly enjoys working with high school and college athletes, guiding them through the rehabilitation process to return to their sports. She has mostly worked with athletes involved in soccer, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and ice hockey, showcasing her ability to cater to a diverse range of sports and associated injuries.

Her commitment to athlete rehabilitation is evident in her hands-on approach to working with athletes from middle school through the college level. Cydney's ability to combine her athletic training background with her physical therapy skills makes her a valuable asset in sports medicine, especially in the context of rehabilitating athletes and making informed return-to-sport decisions.
